All non-subscribing readers of Deep Madder Monthly take note:
Beginning 2009, Deep Madder Monthly will be a subscriber-only periodical. That is, the editors will make even less of an effort (i.e. none) to deliver 2009 issues to non-subscribers. Therefore, it is with great tenacity that we ask you to subscribe at this juncture, so that you may prevent our entire readership from slipping to the diminutive number of current subscribers.
Love,
the Deep Madder Monthly staff
am i currently on the subscription list?
ReplyDeleteI believe you're on the "subscribed but yet to pay" list.
ReplyDeleteReally? She's not on my list.
ReplyDeleteam i paying in envelopes or money?
ReplyDeleteCan I give you an e-iou? It is extremely difficult for me to put money in your hands without having a third (probably corporate) party making some money off the process. I'd like to keep receiving the "Deep Madder Express" editions, and then I'd like to receive an anthology instead of regular issues, in order to save paper.
ReplyDeleteI would pay you in cold-hard cash shortly after landing on Canadian soil.
By the way, really love the zines. Especially the last five issues or so.
ie/ do you want snazzy read envoples?
ReplyDeletealso- something cool you could use. WAX SEALS (which we sell at my work) that you could seal every issue with. (it's different wax than candle wax- tougher and stronger).
Lindsay's on my list. Maybe I added her to mine, but didn't transfer it to yours? Since I'm the one who mailed out the past trillion issues, those have all been based on my subscription list.
ReplyDeleteLindsay - you can pay with either envelopes or money (i.e., it's up to you), but if you choose the former, we have to figure out exactly what kind of envelopes we might use. But there's not a massive hurry at the moment.
Zicheng - my perception is that you'll receive the 'e-versions' until you return to Canada, at which point we'll figure out how to go about moving you to the 'regular' model.
wax seals would be incredible if they're not too hard to use and expensive and shit. How does it work?
ReplyDeleteyou light the wick of the sealing wax, let it drip on the envelope folds and press a brass seal into it. the wax is $7 and the seals are about $17 - but i think you can find cheaper ones online
ReplyDeleteHow long does the wax last? Like, how many waxes can the wax make? Plus, what does the seal have on it? Can we customise it? Can we get one that reads "DM" for instance?
ReplyDeleteyou could get a d and an m initial and use them both. or you could get someone to customize one for you i'm sure, but that'd be expensive. ive heard each wick 'candle' will last about 50-100 uses (even though for some reason the package says 10 -its bs). its just depends how much wax you want on it.
ReplyDeleteCan you buy a wax for yourself and let us borrow it?
